Reflect, Revise, Reflect
- As a student, I have never found myself to be the most interested in the area of psychology. This project may have converted me to do so, and help me realize the important information I was discrediting because it did not interest me. Reading, writing, and citing all of these concepts took me farther into the field than I could have imagined, and I actually learned somethings I believe will be useful in my classroom. Especially the works of Howard Gardner and Lawrence Kohlberg, two men who I have come to revere and appreciate their practices even more. I found some solid strengths in my work, such as my caring nature for students. I also have a good grasp on assignments for this class, thinking back to my days in school and applying what worked for me into my lessons. This also comes with some weaknesses. I tend to care too much, and put my students emotions perhaps higher than their need to learn. I also don't have a lot of experience so my area of expertise could either fail or succeed. I also tend to rely on my own knowledge too much, and perhaps not willing to take advice from others about what is happening in my class.
- I have come to realize that by actually learning from these concepts I can adapt to more situations that I could have without them, and the same may be true for other courses during my term here at Ball State. The big fact of the lesson would be how different each of my students will be, and as a teacher it is my job to help sustain as much of these things as possible and create the atmosphere to foster development. Guided by these concepts, I believe that to be plausible.
